Installing Your Theme, Demo Content & Setup
This guide covers the first steps with any PremiumPress theme: installing it, activating your license, loading demo content, and getting past the common "demo mode" message.
Installing your theme
Install the theme like any WordPress theme ? upload the theme ZIP under Appearance ? Themes ? Add New ? Upload, then activate it. Your download and the latest version are always available in your members area.
Your license key
Your license key is the same as your order ID. You'll find it in your members area with your purchase. If a license key is reported as invalid, confirm you're using the order ID for that product; if it still won't validate, open a support ticket and we can reset it for you.
Loading demo content
Demo content gives you the same starting layout and sample listings you see on the theme demo, so you can work from a populated site rather than a blank one. Load it from the theme's setup/settings area after activation, then replace the sample listings with your own.
"Changes will not be saved in demo mode"
If you make a change (for example editing your logo, packages or settings) and see "Changes will not be saved in demo mode," your site is running in demo mode. Demo mode is intended for public theme demos, where visitors can look around but can't alter the site.
To save your changes, turn demo mode off in your theme's admin settings (Site Manager / theme options). Once demo mode is disabled, your edits to logos, packages, templates and settings will save normally. If you can't locate the setting for your theme version, open a support ticket and we'll point you to it.
Running multiple sites (Multisite)
PremiumPress themes can run on a WordPress Multisite network ? one WordPress installation and database powering multiple sites, managed from one place. Install and network-activate the theme as you would on any Multisite setup. This is a good option if you're running several directory/listing sites and want to manage them centrally.
Keeping your theme up to date
Always take a backup before upgrading, and update to the latest responsive version from your members area. Some older purchases can upgrade to the current responsive theme at a reduced price via the link in your members area.
